Deception

"Deception, Disgrace"

Trust is something that we all lose,
There is always that one person who ruins it for you.

You put everything on the line,
Just for them to push you off.

This is, Deception.

Nothing but a Trickery,
That soothes their hunger for others misery.

They are the bottom of a pit,
That holds sharp rocks,
Ready to penetrate your flesh.

All that is needed,
is one tiny slip,

Then you are spiraling down,
getting closer to the torment at the bottom.

This is the true nature of humans,
Greedy and selfish.

Always ready to deceive you,
when you no longer benefit them.

Greed and selfishness will cause the person to achieve such deceptions.. Those trickories of the heartless souls, make it harder to believe the next ones to who really needs the help and to trust to help you. Put them through a test. Tell people before you hang out, you have very little money and or no money at all. But still pay your own things and way. That shall let you know who is trust worthy as a friend or not, or wait is that for relationships? lol Anyways, another nice poem.

I once believe, with full conviction, that man by nature is inherently good. But when i began to face the real world such belief somehow wavered. It's sad but there's always hope. The last stanza is a grim reality. This is truly evocative write.

Very interesting. It reminds me of those people who like to wait in the wings for your success to start happening. Then here comes their sabtotaging plans as they watch you fall hard while their laughing in the shadows. Great job. A compelling read. :)

but yes, many people are like this..thank god, there are the good ones who more than make up for the bad ones...

but many people are users...much truth in this.
and we need to know we are better than that...that we have self-worth..

others can really make us feel bad about ourselves...and that is the shame of it all.
