Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Creepy Swine Guy

Looking across the dreary expanse
That was the bleak morning sky
Brought to mind thoughts of you.
~
In that vast skyscape filled with
The gray clouds that signaled gloom,
There was a break, a brief break.
~
A break in the gloom that liberated
Your brilliant light to blaze upon
My soul like nothing before or since.
~
Even as the glow warmed through to
My soul, thawed my once frigid heart, I knew
That the break would be painfully short.
~
My joy was tempered by the sight of the
Dreary clouds slowly engulfing the light. In
What seemed like a moment, the light was gone.
~
Now as I look across the sky, I see no more
Breaks in this gloom, it goes to the end of
The horizon, as far as the heart can see,
There is Solitude.

"Now as I look across the sky, I see no more
Breaks in this gloom, it goes to the end of
The horizon" - these lines say so much about your outlook on the future - that gray gloom lingering, consuming the scenery with a soft yet dirty view of the sky we can remember from happier days. I hope the smog of discontentment lifts soon - Leah

Goodness, we have had the same kind of day, and this got me teary eyed. The rest did me in.
You made me cry, Jerry :(
and Im telling my mom on you.

Very powerful stanza. My breath actually caught in my throat. Gorgeous and heart-wrenching piece. I'm proud of you. ;-)

This is a beautiful piece and so full of loneliness and sorrow. I sense a hopeless in this piece and just
remember that where there is life there is hope. The emotion in each line entwines with the sadness to make this a moving testimony of love. It flows with an ease that almost belies the pain and sorrow of the emotions held within. Bravo nicely done.

Sounds much like our english weather.........so much rain and gloom and every so
often a peek of light will emerge bringing joy and hope!
But your words are emotionally intermingled I think, the sky reflecting your
heart, and some words are very sorrowful.
