Society Kills

Words whisper in my head 

           " I swear I'm not Skitzo!"  

They tell me to die 

            "Die you little b***h!"

No one cares...

             "No one cares..."

Doesn't matter to me,

            "Yes it does admit it!"

It doesn't! I'll ignore you.

             "You don't have the strength." 

I do have the strength! 

            " You are worthless."

Stop it! I'm not worthless...

           " Stop lying to yourself."

Tears dribble down my cheeks 

             "That's it, cry! It won't do any good."

Knife..blood...cut...

               "End your life! Good just like that!"

Goodbye family. The voices told me to die. 

             "There are no voices. You're just crazy."

I got it now. 

              "Society..."

Society...

                "It recked you. Your dead from it."

One. Last. Breath. 

             "So sorry. Atleast you won't ruin any more lives."

I haven't ruined any. But now I will. 

               " You understood a little too late."

Death. 

             "Goodbye."

we can all have voices in our heads sometimes but there are our family's to help us and we would hurt them most if we just give up at least that's what i think

Really powerful write. I do feel like society is killing people, mentally and emotionally anyway. Everything is about weight or appearance nowadays, and even in the mental health profession, so many teens are told that they're bipolar, and they've started to give meds to kids who're younger than 10-years-old. Your poem speaks volumes about what society has did to the 90s generation.
