Philandering flea..

Philandering flea..

A Poem by Tom
"

not for the faint of heart 😉

"
A flea, a flea, came between you and me
a pesky, philandering flea,
jumped onto, into our marital bed
stole your maidenhead,
slung there between two lofty peaks
quaffed left, quaffed right
as I lay prostrate, ignored
a John Doe corpse, stiff, dead

I decree, dam flea, sucked thy blood
through protracted proboscis, filigree,
its inoculated, analgesic injection
sole cause of my rejection,
oh dearest lady of heavenly form
castigate me not, for that ink blot,
no substitute for human copulation!

What is this flea, compared to me
why interject with a parasitic insect,
physically, I'm tall, chisel jawed,
it's miniscule, bereft of shoulders broad
save for pseudo, phallic phenomenon..
"Oh flea, oh flea, why debase, humiliate me?
My honour lost, I bow to thee, your charm,
charisma, powers of persuasion, I'm surely undone!"

Okay, this is a god wink. First, I read and reviewed Fabian, who references John Donne. Now, you. While infused with humor and bawdiness, I find this poem to be rather pleasant. Your language overrides the senses to the point where this is poetic genius. The image chosen to go with the poem is great as well. I can write a poem and spend hours trying to find just the right image and music to compliment it to give the overall effect of what I feel in the poem. I really appreciate this a lot! Great write, Tom.

I heard she has her autobiography out probably a few years now but apparently a very good read.
And the meek shall inherit...do you think they meant fleas? I really enjoyed you sensual and stimulating poem here today. I couldn't help but notice the image of Elvira leading the way...very crafty.

Coolio, no worries 😎
You have managed to reveal much sensual content without being smutty....and that takes much poetic talent Tom. Your chosen words are perfect and even witty.... I love the photo that fits with the poem.
Sn enjoyable read all around.

What is this flea compared to me

I followed the link Tom and read John Donne before perusing your lines. I do like a bit of humour in these days of much political correctness. I found it here and it appears your other readers enjoyed the craic too. Quite a voluptuous flashing of flesh in your posted artwork:) I sense you had fun writing this one :)

Now what was the name of this pesky flea? Was it Eric, no that was the half bee of Python fame. Was it John flea after the original progenetor?
What ever the case this was a wonderful sexy bit of surrealism and whimsy.

This was humorous, sexy and logical all wrapped up in one. Your mind is bringing all these things together in a brilliant way. So many good lines to quote. I like the archaic language too.
Talented indeed.

Brilliant poetry! John Donne would be proud of your version! I found some tongue in cheek humor between the lines of this one. Some erotic/passionate avenues, but everything was shaded in elegance. Tom, this one is a winner!! Lydi**
