It Was Me

It Was Me

A Poem by Haru
"

Inspired by a rough patch in my life.

"

I could only see red behind my eyes.

Fire built in my throat.

The room spun.

It wasn't me.

Anger burned in my stomache.

All voices seemed so far away.

It felt like I was underwater.

It wasn't me.

Being pulled away,

I realized the cruel truth.

What I had done.

It was me.

It was me.

Knowing so, sent a haunting chill

Through my body.

I had done such a thing.

Locking myself in my closet.

Was all I could do.

The voices were much louder.

Screaming in my ears.

I felt as though I had almost drowned.

As though, I had finally got to the surface,

But the water was set to flames.

And I was without help.

The truth carved itself into my heart.

I could see it all flash before my eyes again.

The room started to spin again.

I felt like I was burning.

It was me.

A lot of emotion in this. Which is good since that's what makes up poetry, without emotion what is it but a bunch of empty words?
