The thought of the moon as the guardian of night is a very compelling thought. Your haiku seems true in my perception of the night as well, but that's not why I like it. I like it because of it's subtle yet filled meaning...
I'm sorry, I'm not awake, nor am I creative this morning. I'm in a bad mood, but I suppose it means something if I can have the potential to go crazy with negativity and still like your haiku.
Haiku may be short, but it is very striking. Beautifully written! The title caught my eye as well, since I love the color black. And this poem, wow! Night skies always amaze me. =)
Like I've been saying this whole week, I have developed a new appreciation for Haikus. I think it was the challenge to write my first Haiku that brought out the understanding and appreciation.
This is truly beautiful and powerful. I like that we both have a Haiku with the same title, but took two entirely different approaches/ideas.
