this reminds me of being a person who has seen so many friends pass on...they are burnt from and by the passion of life...and then we are the flower that is left to speak for them, to embrace the sun for them...
and we open our dark, weary center...because life really makes it a battle to survive, to not wilt..like the others--
My tulips of three weeks ago, have gone back to bulb for the year. Nature knows and understands
the timing of all things distended - enlarged by internal pressure (passion I think you called it). And
because humans are too impatient to watch this "rot" we leave such matters to the crickets
and to sun kisses..
