Facing a wall and a storm cloud

Facing a wall and a storm cloud

A Poem by willweb

Facing a wall and a storm cloud

head first reactions

blank oblivion

thundering reminders

that standing still

can break the will

of even the best foundation

when water forms puddles

and you fail to notice

that it is you who are crumbling

We are the foundation of a relationship... when we crack and crumble.. it all comes down!

I like this poem as it reminds me of people who are in some type of distress. These can be the one who recognize it in every one else except themselves and one day they hear someone screaming and they realize it is them.

Once again you are correct Shirlena. You nice words were fun to read today. Thank you once more.
Boom! That last line is what did this one! I could see and hear everything in this short write, but once I hit that last line, everything in my mind shifted.

Brilliantly penned, Will! :)

Gee whiz!!! Thank you so much Madalyn. I am happy you enjoyed this poem. Thank you again.
The last line hit me hard.
Wonderful.
Indeed, some people do not notice that it is they themselves "who are crumbling."

This seems to be about relationships, but also about oneself. It is easy to stare at that wall blankly while life just happens and you fall apart.

Haha, it is, indeed but it's me.
I like the lines:

"that standing still
can break the will”

If we fail to adapt to changing conditions, then we fall prey to oncoming storms. Water erodes mountains. Life is a dynamic process, and as such it’s a moving target that’s difficult to hit.
