A Letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

 

It’s been quite a while

How have you been,

I hope all is well

It’s that time again

 

I know you are busy

It’s almost that day

I don’t want to bother

but please let me say

 

I have been good,

I’ve done my best

So if you would please

grant one request

 

I’m not sure you’ve seen

or had time to read

the poems I’ve posted

to see my one need

 

But now just in case

those poems you missed

where I was just hoping

to be the one kissed

 

It still hasn’t happened

and I don’t know why

but you’re my last hope,

So Please Santa, try

 

Find in your bag

when you’re up in the air

That one verse I need

so her kiss I may share

 

So come Christmas morning

when I do awake

My smile will be there,

my heart it won’t break

 

 

I just want one present

a gift that does rhyme

Just leave me a verse

that makes her kiss mine

 

I’ll leave you some cookies

a glass of milk too

If you would just make

this dream of mine true

 

Let me now say Thank you

if somehow you send

That one special verse

from your magic pen

 

So that I may write

a poem to bring

Her kiss to my lips

and make my heart sing

 

Please say hi to Rudolph,

the elves in your crew

and please give my best

to Mrs. Claus too

 

And stay warm this Christmas,

no need for a chill

forever your friend
