The Corridor

The Corridor

A Poem by

I’m running through the corridor.

The dark, the lone, the quiet one.

My unsteady footsteps break the silence

When the raindrops outside pause.

There’s the shadow I’m chasing

Shadow of the locked door,

Whose keys are lost

On this dark corridor

Where no light enters through the window.

I run for the end.

I run away from life that lies behind.

I may not turn back.

The thunder crackles outside

Rattling the glass heart I wear.

I do not know how endless is my path,

For my desires have been corrupted.

I care not how green the earth is,

And blue is the sky-

All that I care for or all that I see

Is the dark walls beyond me.

Great imagery, very oblique, but most good poems are!

Black Tulip,

A creative energetic taste of light vs dark.

Chasing what lies ahead - energy
Glass Heart - so easily broken
Run away from what lies behind - mystery
Not caring of green grass or blue sky - at times we all have been there, I believe
The title is perfect, the feeling is genuine and the relief of the struggle is brilliant.

I enjoyed this write and can identify with the strength it takes to push yourself through that corridor.

Thank you for sharing this write,

Legacy

That was good. I like the meaning and the voice within it. Is it supposed to be "hoe green" or "how green"? Just not sure.
