~ Like an Elephant

Low sounds of your ponderous body

Irresistible memories of the past

Keen insights like the beholders eye

Elegant with flair, and musical Jazz

Animal-ish well weighted

Neither to need too much

Emancipated and an older soul

Love for family, and the partner or herd

Educationally  surviving,

Primeval corpo in dignity

Hateful at those who did do you wrong

Analytically almost artificial

Nations there of you for so long

Time just came to sing the song ♫

Author's Note

My first Acrostic,
(in my series of my: " Like an/a …… “specific animal” I tried to be..."
For a moment… ;) )
Just some fun in between my serious projects to come...
Transformed the mind and thoughts into an animal,
Instead into only the Human Beings…

Once had to be the first time…

Enjoy xx
Writing is such a fun....

I love and I am humbled by this magnificent animal. They express many of the more positive human qualities. Again the melody hypnotized me after I read the poem- giving me time to think about how much I really do like elephants and I feel for them in their plight.

A touching acrostic- not an easy task.

Thank you very much :)
This has mammoth portions of talent. The trouncing jazz as beast is collective imagery; a missing link to man and music, digestive classification with notes of DNA,
melodic ladders carrying tune in your masterpiece..good job

I am really liking your animal poems, sis:) I have felt like an elephant sometimes. It is so odd how they are so big but are scared by the littlest mouse. I think elephants speak well of our ego or our sense of self. I like this kind of analogy very much. I am fascinated with our relationship with animals and what their nature says about our own.I think you spoke well of it here.

A fun read, Eli. Long live your pen!

I'm guessing it's going to be a cool project my dear. As cool as the poem itself. I always find acrostic to be a hard task so I never try to touch the literary style to avoid chaos:) But you impress me with this write. Bows to you!
