The Death of Two Lovers

Slowly I walked down
The staircase
Holding gazes,
You and I
Alone.
Together.

She floated down

The stairs,

Eyes piercing

Mine through

Her mask.

Who was thy partner?

A covered face,

A shield,

To protect one’s

Secret love.

A tempo one two,

Maybe even three.

Our feet like magic,

Moving to the rhythm of the

Rhyme.

A force pushing us together.

Force of love?

No.

The force of secrets.

A heart leaps
Across the room
“Got it” he said.
Outside we go,
Cold. Warm.
Sweet. Sour.

Beautiful, face.

Ugly, secret.

May I kiss thy’s sweet, yearning lips?

Face by face,

Lips by lips,

Hearts by hearts.

The secret is out.

My lover is of the traitor.
Oh, Maid, what do I do?
“love.”

My sweet soul-mate,

Of the traitor.

And what shall I do?

Love.

I will live.

Love.

Survive for you.

My secret is gone,
My secret has touched the ends of the Earth and hasn’t come back.
To die for you I swear.
My love.
Goodbye.

For my Jupiter has stopped its orbit.

And for that,

My love,

Farewell.

These two lovers now lay in peace.

Together, forever, up in the palace of Heaven.
