The Frustrated Halfwit

The Frustrated Halfwit

A Chapter by Akshay Rawal
"

" It is known that ignorance is a curse.....But this is what he spoke"

"

'My word to those who are urbane-

Am proud being halfwit, to be germane.

No diadem of wit did I gain,

I be happy, when I live sans brain.

They mock at me with jokes smart,

They run their brains, then laugh at heart.

Never getting the insult, I never am grieved,

But into their laughter, I get heaved.

As laughter is contagious, that we know.

Thus, I'm just a motley, no foe.

I never scribble through hefty pages,

Nor like accountants, dabble into wages

I have no withering hairs, no headache,

I have nothing to lose or to put at stake.

In affairs vain, I don't get mad.

What if I am not 'Jack the Lad'?

I cannot afford luxurious grief,

I am but gay with bread and beef.

I could not dare pursue knowledge,

'cause I found no merit in college.

But, It's when you 'know' how you can win,

vindicating an illegitimate sin,

Oblivion makes you fall into doing it,

Insatiable pleasures-'snares!'-by little wit

that I have, The elite fall into them.

And it's broken- Green Morality's stem.

Thus to possess wit, I won't fain.

I be happy, when I live sans brain.'
