The Perfect Storm

for jaded eyes sick of seeing blue

a strange, red sky burns with

the promise of something new

 

flaming tongues tickle and tease

till reason trips and falls

feeling weak in the knees

 

she’ll rob you blind with a kiss

should you trade your peace

for a moment’s infernal bliss

dear Laz... since my Father's family was from Hungary...
I am fascinated by your poem. My grandfather and his
two sons-- my Father and his brother... were Cobblers in Hungary.
They came with their entire family to Ellis Island and were
directed to West Virginia where they set up Shoe Shops to
repair Shoes as they did in the olde Country. truly, Pat

Pleasure is very tempting, even to those who pride themselves on their rationality. But who among us has not given in to passion at some time or another? Instead of flagellating ourselves, though, the best course is to count the slip as a learning device and try to avoid repetitions in the future (even though we probably won't).

My friends Romeo, Othello, Anna (Karenina), and Ethan (Frome) seemed to suggest that peace indeed was gone. Was it worth it though? That's another question.
