three walked into a bar

three walked into a bar

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

you'll see

"
A leech
A flea
and a rat
walked into
a bar
chatting
casually
the leech
bragged
how they
never saw
him coming
and he
drank until his
fill.
"But when you get full, you fall off", said the flea,
"I work
my way in
multiply
and never leave",
he said proudly.
The rat smiled "but you make them itch",
he laughed
"and they use chemicals to boot you off".
"What about you?"
cried the leech and the flea.

"I am a rat",
said he, pretty as you please.
"By the time they figure it out,
I am already on to the next piece of cheese".

Because he multiplies!
This might sound strange but this poem is really classy to me. At first I imagine them as who they are, then I picture them as some gentlemen chatting at the bar. Womanizers and such.
Good piece!

you got it babe
Ha what a creative piece of writing! Loved the dialogue. As always your prose flows and holds the interest. So the rat has it then?

He may think so, but the leech and the flea can always piggyback him:)

glad you liked it:)
Your sense of humor and your way of looking at "the way it is" is unique and wonderful. I enjoyed this....yes, often the rat is nibbling at the next piece of cheese before we realize he has come upon the scene. Great stuff. Lydi**

I appreciate that. I had this vision like in the Naked Lunch with the cockroach.
