I really don't get along with my parents very well

I know you don't want me to go,
But I do not want to stay.
I cannot reach my goals here;
My only option is to go far away.

I know you want me to stay here,
But I refuse to compromise my dreams.
I cannot stand it here much longer;
My only good option is getting away.

I feel you don't care about my dreams,
And I really hope this is not true.
Don't think that I don't love you;
I just need to pursue my own aspirations.

I feel like you're holding me back,
And I really hope you realize how much it hurts.
Don't think I'll waste my life here;
I just can't give up my loves.

I think this piece brings to light that moment when one finally must make the choice to leave the nest, so to walk their destiny. It can be hard at times as it's never an issue of familial love, it's just the friction that comes up in the practical dealings of life and it's evolution for the self.
