It's too late for you to come back

It's too late for you to come back

A Poem by Beren
"

"how low did you think I'd go before I'd self-implode?" So Long, London

"
Now, I watch how hard you want me back
I used to have to beg you for it
But back then I was just a purse to you

I was a medal you were after just for my reputation
And I thought you loved me because I was golden
you loved me because I was gold

I needed CPR and you were afraid it would be misunderstood in the news
I waited 40 minutes to die

And now you're calling me as if nothing happened
You used to try to hug me when there were only cameras
Now I have no money or reputation left and I am free to go.
but you hold on to me for my potential to gain

You are late for me while I'm alive
usually others regret it after they die.

You say you realized early what you made me go through
and I'm guilty again for not dying
but you came to me later than you think.

I did like the above lines. Sometime if we are lucky. We learn who is the people we need in a life and not. Thank you dear Beren. A powerful poem of questions.

Thank you so much ma'am! It's nice to see that I can be understood.
this is like a conversation in mind and heart is listening to it. there are those questions that needs answers but hard to know what were the right answers. the circumstances in life and love are similar sometimes, the more we desire something, it may get away quicker and one day it might come back when we have moved on and the value of having that has passed. may be, a love that was not acknowledged is a love that never was.. nicely written, thanks for sharing, B.

This raises the elephant in the room question of what is love? Is it for sale? Are we not all purchasers of it? A matter of definitions perhaps. Do we prostitute ourselves for love in return? I loved the questions that this poem sprouted in my mind.

It'r really hard when we die to something and then it turns around and gives you what was needed before the dying. Resurrection must be required for this to be requited. 🙏🏻🕊️
