my advocacy

When I was a child,

i was taught that the sun rises in the East

And sets in the West,

 

So the thing that keeps me going

In life is being able to help people

The best way I can.

 

The advocacy I am in right now,

Inspires me to be a better person than before,

My journey towards self-healing

Started the time I was able to save a life.

An abused child of nine

Who was abandoned by his parents.

 

For seven straight years,

I was battling between my letting go

Of a person whom I have loved so much

More than life itself

 

And my family who was

Against the relationship

Right from the start.

 

The advocacy has been my rock,

My saving grace,

My direction,

And most of all my redemption.

 

For the many past mistakes,

I have made in my life,

For the many people

Whom I have loved and hurt the most.

 

the advocacy has been my sanctuary,

when I help save a life,

it is like saving mine.

 

And I continue to adhere to this

For my entire lifetime,

I will continue saving lives

The best way that I can.

Sometimes quite unwittingly others can save your own life; a kind word or gesture can alter your state of mind and lead to more positive thinking.

To save another life by just giving some love and believing in that person against all the outside influences is something very special.

yes that is something that goes with me when i try to save a life i am also saving myself
