A Chapter by Brenda Woods

time turns over like the ocean's waves
pulling you apart, pushing you together
tossing and turning until you're through the storm
calm water letting you drift home

love is a silent promise;
a hand to hold
a heart to call home
easily forgotten, yet always there

love is quiet, peaceful;
the kindness in your gaze
the way you'd give anything,
just to keep each other safe

love endures everything;
stands strong, even when you fall
sturdy foundations beneath your feet
helping rebuild you from the ruins

and when the storm calms, you both realise---
perhaps love means never giving up
