Reflection

A Poem by Latifa

The dusty attic is my retreat
The corner is my favorite seat
The droning lullaby with aromatic beat
Sleet, frozen frosting sleet
Is the conqueror of my retreat
The narrow moments hug my feet
I gaze and illuminations I meet
I open my heart to the worthy fleet
And adorn it like the royalty suite

The rhymes give this a toe-tapping effect while your words dance upon the page right into that royalty suite.

Wow! The descriptions I would have to say is amazing. It makes me feel nostalgic, yet at the same time it gives me a happy feeling.

Have you considered removing the capitalization at the beginning of some lines to increase the flow? Just a thought :) I love your rhymes and the beautiful imagery!

I can see your sitting in a corner of your attic hearing the sleet on the rooftop and dreaming lovely dreams. Perhaps you were a child at the time, perhaps an older woman. Very well done, Latifa.

I like the poem a lot. We need a place to relax and think. The dusty attic would be nice and quiet. I like how you described the attic. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
