Forget me not

Forget me not

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

Beth:s Dad died when she was 10months old.

"
Of all the flora I have grown,
there's one self-seeding I adore,
that brings in spring its powder blue
to fill the spaces inbetween
red tulips and gold daffodils.

Their tiny yellow centred heads,
create a splash in garden beds.
So loved by Beth when she was six,
she picked a posy for her Dad
to take to his last resting place.

Forget him not is what she said,
and who was I to disagree,
so when she left them lovingly
beneath the branches of a tree
with innocence she paused to say
'my Daddy does remember me'.

Wow, amazing how she can remember her dad that young, but even if she didn't get to really interact with him, she must have been told what a great dad he was...and she will have memories of him forever... a poignant poem with lots of color and warmth....

It's said that forget.me.nots have small heads but the hearts of lions. And they do...

.. proof shown in the sad, sad yet beautifully placed details about your Beth and her daddy.

Neither flower nor human being needs be exotic to bandage sadness.

Thank you so much Chris and yeah she'll always be in my heart.
This one really tugs at my heart. Sometimes people are taken much too soon, and the gap they leave is always felt by those they leave behind. Beautiful poem, Chris.
