wow, where did this come from:) what a delightful dream of a poem dear Chris! I clicked on this cause I love the smell of pine but I wasn't expecting this poem... what a fun trick! I would of course want to jump into the air and join them all "bunny-like" but alas I'm no spring bunny anymore LOL so I guess I would have to wait

And I bet they get a choice of a vast menu of desserts too, while we trudge through our as yet only known realist, which currently defies logic by both sucking and blowing at the same time! 😊
I can't wait to finally try out snozzberry cheesecake. 😊

Well, I take it that you'll not be inviting me to your snowberry cheesecake party then? 😊
Pine is one of those childhood scents that accompany us throughout our days and generations. A much enjoyed nature poem Chris. Oh, btw (P.S. - your last 2 lines here in this poem reminded me of one of mine about pines: https://www.writerscafe.org/writing/Excalibard/2834599/ )

Hmmm. This is really nice. I have always had a thing for fireflies so this particularly appeals to me. You have created beautiful imagery with your words - a dream and a wish that we all wish that we could grasp. When we were young, we were at the drive-in, which had pine trees all around. There were thousands of fireflies lighting up the night. My 11-year-old sister asked my boyfriend, "How do they stay lit up like that?" His response, "They carry around little matchsticks." LOL! I have never forgotten that. It's funny the things that strike a chord with you and stay with you forever. Thanks for stoking the memory, Chris. This is lovely!

I'm wide-eyed in awe of your talent. I live in such place of rural Alabama, where pine, oak, cedar and magnolias grow abundantly. I like the smell of those indeed. I like where you took this poem and the message.

I loved this one, Chris. What a wonderful image you conjured with your words. Our dear departed lighting up the forest at night...letting us know they are okay. The wonder and awe comes through loud and clear. Lydi**

I have never seen a pine forest and I think it must be very beautiful to behold in itself. If it was festooned with fireflies with such a surreal, otherworldly glow, the beautify would intensify so immeasurably. To me the thought signifies the beauty of your mind and your love for those most precious to you who now live in the world of heaven.
What a rapturous moment that would be, if we found them in that pine forest. All our grief would vanish forever and we'd know beyond doubt of life eternal with them. It would complete everything and we would never fear, grieve or weaken. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful poem, dear friend Chris. Reading you today just uplifted me and my day.
