Fade Away

Fade Away

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

Just some thoughts

"

If you knew I’d die tomorrow

Would you say good-bye today?

Or would you roll your eyes

And look the other way

Life's too short to hold grudges

Regardless if you hate me

You insist your life would be better

If death would come take me

So if your dreams came true

And I was to fade away

If you knew I’d die tomorrow

Would you say I love you today?

Aaron this is a complex question. If they don't like me today or yesterday and they knew I would die tomorrow then I would think they were feeling pity and the friendship wouldn't be real.My saying is if you weren't my friend in life then don't come to my funeral. What would you prefer?

Your words are so powerful. I love the last four lines, they just burst with the emotions displayed in the poem.

Grudges and hate destroy the soul and when all is said and done they leave us with nothing to look back on for they consume us and prevent us from living. You pose a great question in this piece and the answer should be "yes" for love is the key to destroying hate and the key to living a good life. Good write!

Dark, but deep. Life is so short and we never know when our life will be taken away, which is why we should seize every moment and opportunity to forgive and forget, to chase our dreams, to say we love someone and not think we are being weak (love is strength, not weakness). Because today we exist, but tomorrow we may not. Thank you for these profound thoughts.

kind of a solemn poem, but a very good read. I know that sometimes it's hard to let others leave your life, but you have to get on and move along without them. Life keeps going even when you stop, and it's hard, but if you don't everything zooms past you. Everyone has a purpose in your life and when they are done teaching you what they need to, then they leave. It's hard, but that's life, I suppose. "I love you" 's should be said often but should always be sincere. Hope everything works out for you, AaronFreitas. I know i'm definitely rooting for you.

This was fantastic! I feel this way about a lot of people. I think at some point we all qusestion if the people in our lives would care if we were to die. It kind of made me sad to read as well. I would miss you tremendously, that's for sure.
It was a really deep piece, and it was great!

"Life's too short to hold grudges"
One heavy statement dear.
I liked the way you place the questions.
And the way you predict the uncertainities around the certain circumstance touched me deep :)
Thank u for sharing :)
