Scarlet wrists...

Scarlet wrists...

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

For a friend who was cut...

"

Scarlet wrists and azure eyes

Bleeding lips tell bloody lies

My words to seal your painful scars

Your eyes to gaze at golden stars

Within the passages of night

Your heart will be like candlelight

And true to life will be your soul

To sever chains and make you whole

In darkest water did you sleep

And crystal tears in shadows weep

Your life was chained to stone and steel

Now take my hand and you will heal

Your onyx hair stroked crimson bold

Your soul more beautiful than gold

More lasting than a sunset sky

More fragile than a butterfly

Your precious heart grows stronger still

And in the end will move your will

To rise above the losting world

Of castles built with jewels and pearls

And on that day shall you go forth

So strong in spirit to the north...

I take from this that no matter what happens to us or what we do to ourselves, there is a place inside of us that can rise stronger and those scars are a reminder of our battle wounds. We are warriors in Spirit, fighting against all that weighs us down and shackles us.

Absolutely beautiful! What an exceedingly comforting and hopeful write. "To rise above the losting world" If we all could only get to that point, but certainly your words inspire us to do so. I really love this.

Oh this brings bittersweet tears to rise again in my eyes. There is such strength in this. It is such a sad ending to a tortured life. I have known souls like this, who find forgiveness in the color red. It is almost like the cannot truely live unless they let out some of their souls liquid. Like if they did not draw it to light they will suffocate. They are truely interesting in their perceptions. Thanks for showing us your perception. I am sorry for your loss of your crimson angel.

Wow, this was SO beautiful I just loved it! The description and your choice of words were just awesome!! I liked the rhyme scheme too. I liked these lines a lot:

Scarlet wrists and azure eyes

Bleeding lips tell bloody lies

My lips to seal your painful scars

My eyes to gaze at golden stars

Within the passages of night

Your heart will be my candlelight

- I just love how you describe it, it's just so beautiful! Great write!!

There is such pain in this piece, but yet it brings butterflies to the stomach. As always, your words strike a flaming scar in the readers' hearts; they hold the actual sense of pain and healing by love. Yes, your words are like knives, inscribing the words into the actual emotion that is being felt when we read.
