Awaken Me

Awaken Me

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

my love for ballet dancing and playing the cello

"

Awaken Me

Deep chords

Of a solemn cello

Chiseling swiftly up

And down the scales

Stir raw emotions

Asleep in me

Gliding my feet

Back and forth

Swiftly, like a

Hummingbird just

Learning to fly

My satin toes

Make rhythmic

Thrusts against

The hardwoods,

As my arms

Soar through

The air

Strings

Of the cello

Overtake

Me

They cast

Their spell on

My spirit

Rich tones

Stoke the glowing

Embers of my

Soul
