A Fool I am

A poem about how a man won't love you even if you change, but if a man loves you, he'll still love you even if you've changed.

I worked so hard for you that I began to bloom,

what I only failed to notice was impending doom.

as I turn the heads of so many unlike before,

 but yours turns the other way only to ignore.

For me, each man will open their door,

yet still you let me fall to the floor.

As you failed to notice who I became,

I failed to remember my old flame.

I became beautiful, strong and bright to so many,

But you who matters most, I don’t matter any.

As I accepted my past and embraced both sides,

 with ecstasy & joy, I've caught your eye.

A fool I was to change who I am,

A lesson I learned from your own hand.
