Invisible Words

Invisible Words

A Poem by Chris Micha
"

Sometimes speaking words makes you feel invisible.

"

Invisible Words

I'm not sure what to do with these left over words

I was going to permanently entwine into your conscious fabric

Along with the others that had been laid with sincere adoration

That was creating the foundation for your heart.

I was going to build you a citadel out of them

That would have stood atop infinity's grounds

But I was building around an unsecured wall

That had already been constructed

with wishful bricks of yesteryear.

Your heart is covered in another's unattached words

That my words attach to and fall off

Leaving scattered loud words of guarantees

Under words whispered in maybes.

I guess I'll save these words for a rainy day

When someone's heart is ready to be constructed

With reciprocal words of love & affection

So it may shine with the life it deserves.

Too often powerful words are often overlooked and or underplayed by those we care/love. This poem possessed a profound simplicity, I especially like
" Your heart is covered in another's unattached words
That my words attach to and fall off", and "I was going to build you a citadel out of them
That would have stood atop infinity's grounds", beautiful.

Words spoken are invisible until they are seen with the heart, but first the heart must be open for them to be received. I have always found that actions speak louder and open the heart wide when they are made with sincerity. Well written poem, I felt the depth of sadness lingering on each line.

Thank you doll, I am truly honored! :)
This is beautiful and uniquely played out.
I like the unusual word choice, it was like running through a maze of familiarity yet it was so very unfamiliar.
Well done! ^^

Sandra, I am so honored by you! Thank you. :)
Mr. Romantic Poet you have made me cry sad tears with this piece. But I do appreciate it because its real and relatable.
Your heart is covered in another's unattached words
That my words attach to and fall off
Leaving scattered loud words of guarantees
Under words whispered in maybes.

Wow, these words pulled at my heart. The raw emotion in them is overwhelming.
I really like this piece even though it leaves me feeling sad.

Thank you my dear, Brook. Always a pleasure!
Ah, this is a good use of the “You should not build on shifting sands metaphor.” Every relationship needs a good foundation if it is to thrive. Ephemeral are Castles built of sand near oncoming Waves of Dissolution.

Thank you my wonderful dear friend. You are so amazing with your words. :)
I think that there are many people that will be able to relate to this. We often waste our time and energy on things that seem a good idea at the time.

To sum me up is pretty easy. I love writing because it's therapy for my wayward soul. Although, I am by no means any good at it, I still put myself out there. I use to write when I was younger but gav.. more..
