Invisible Words

Invisible Words

A Poem by Chris Micha
"

Sometimes speaking words makes you feel invisible.

"

Invisible Words

I'm not sure what to do with these left over words

I was going to permanently entwine into your conscious fabric

Along with the others that had been laid with sincere adoration

That was creating the foundation for your heart.

I was going to build you a citadel out of them

That would have stood atop infinity's grounds

But I was building around an unsecured wall

That had already been constructed

with wishful bricks of yesteryear.

Your heart is covered in another's unattached words

That my words attach to and fall off

Leaving scattered loud words of guarantees

Under words whispered in maybes.

I guess I'll save these words for a rainy day

When someone's heart is ready to be constructed

With reciprocal words of love & affection

So it may shine with the life it deserves.

Too often powerful words are often overlooked and or underplayed by those we care/love. This poem possessed a profound simplicity, I especially like
" Your heart is covered in another's unattached words
That my words attach to and fall off", and "I was going to build you a citadel out of them
That would have stood atop infinity's grounds", beautiful.

You write heartbreak well, dear Christian...

Not only do you bring me to a place of sadness, you also create an intangible crux.

How can your words break away from another, and be heard when it's invisible to the one you care about?

Your ink flows in the richest quality, vibrant...and Clever!

Fantastic write... emotive indeed!~xoxo~:)

you're welcome...)...
I read this and felt so sad. I find these days that many people do not write with passion or from their hearts, so I find it hard to feel anything when I read most modern pieces. However, you displayed a true sense of real and true emotion and the Imagery is great as always. Great Job!

This is what contemporary poems are all about. Raw emotions shown with such well defined images and metaphors. Absolutely brilliant. :))

Thank you so much, ma'am. I really appreciate it! :)
Christian, the metaphor is amazing. I never would have conceived this myself, but it is brilliant. A citadel wall of words, promises, former expectations....utter genius.

This is beautiful written dear friend. I know the pain of love not returned and the walls of others that carelessly through words of affection around.
Save your words for the one who deserves them and not the one that would make love a junkyard of feelings.
