Initiation

Initiation

A Poem by clairvoyantmars

Young fledglings linger

Curiosity strikes a jolt

What test is there to find one’s self

In the depth of this darkened room?

Why must we reflect?

What is there left to ponder?

Snatched at birth, stolen self worth

Past this unlit gloom

No thought of us escaping

We know no other life

Trained to kill, unknowing still

Heed no other vice

Control your feelings, Master said

Pay the heart no regard

The power stands in the palm of your hand

Numb yourself and suffice

No glimmer of hope stands

We stop for no man

We find ourselves in darkness

Our thoughts are in unison

No hope…
