THEY fell

THEY fell

A Poem by Not here

SHE FELL
for an angel with a demon,
for a genius with no brain,
for a boyfriend with no heart and
for a heart that's gone insane.
for a teen who's still a child,
for medicine that brings pain,
for a person she never met and
for a love she won't obtain.

SHE SAW HIM
as a man that was a genius,
as a boy more than a friend,
as a husband who would love, and
as a love without an end.
as a pair of hands to hold her,
as a heart that she could mend,
as a warmth that she could feel, and
as a dead man she'd defend.

SHE LEFT HIM
as a suicidal dead man
who would quickly turn to meth,
as a roadblock in the way, he
was a man that soon knew death.

SHE SAW HIM
for the last time at his funeral,
where she soon began to see.
that the man who she was missing
was in a cage; she held the key.

lol :) no problem
This was very different than most of your poems but I quite like it. The different form you write your poems, the rhyme scheme and theme of each one is so beautiful. I really enjoy the journey this one brought me through.

david, I don't know why you ask me where I get my ideas; the basis for this write, and the format you used to convey your idea, are outstanding. You started it out as a seemingly bright love story and concluded it with a drug addicted man destined to send that love crashing with his overdose, him in a casket. A very well constructed story line wonderfully expressed. Where do you get YOUR ideas? take care...dan

Oh my gosh! This si so beautiful I could not choose a line. I loved every single line even if ended tragically, but I guess that if a love story doesn't have something tragic in it really wasn't about love. Great job! Very beautiful.

I really appreciate your thought process of this. I love the way it takes us on a ride though the beginning, middle and end of this relationship. Solid word choice and great phasing. The one thing I enjoyed the most was the flawless smooth transition in to and out of the rhymes, they were ceaseless and seems very organic and not forced. GREAT JOB
