Green Peace

Green Peace

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

I see it everyday

Unfolding before my eyes

Like our country’s flag

Coming apart at the seems.

The horror drowns my mind

In a man made lake,

Salt water burning my brain.

This body of water

Is so damn cold,

I wish it were liquid nitrogen

I could dip my heart in

And freeze the pain;

Thus stopping it

From clogging my arteries.

Where is the love in bloom

Among all the weeds

Of greed and selfishness

That has taken over this garden

Called the human race.

Oh how easy it would be

To dry up among the masses,

I would rather take the hard way

Of being the greener grass

On the other side.

I know I might get trampled

At times,

But like real grass

My spirit is resilant.

Even if I am

Never more then a seedling

In the dirt,

It is better than

Being mold on a beautiful tree

That stinks up the fresh air

When ever Mother Nature

Kisses humanity

With a cool breeze.

Loved these stanza's lines.

But this stanza's line got me too. I always say
nature as I don't believe in mother nature as
nature is just nature to me that god has made
Nor do I worship the nature I see it as a beautiful
woman that's why I always end up describing it that way.

Even if I am

Never more then a seedling

In the dirt,

It is better than

Being mold on a beautiful tree

That stinks up the fresh air

When ever Mother Nature

Kisses humanity

With a cool breeze.

Your words project an insightful view into human sociology.

Even if I am
Never more then a seedling
In the dirt,
It is better than
Being mold on a beautiful tree
That stinks up the fresh air
When ever Mother Nature
Kisses humanity
With a cool breeze.

The last stanza reflects truth and honesty in the poet's heart.

Thank you so very much :))
this is really insightful, as Elisa said.

we need more love, less weeds...and we might get trampled on and strangled...but i would much rather be on the side you show us here.

much rather be...greed, selfishness...not for me.

your poem reminds me of that old Bread song "too much love, i've never seen, too much love, i don't know what it means"

Thank you very kindly sir for share your wisdom and insight.
A very clever, and insightful write my friend,

"Where is the love in bloom
Among all the weeds
Of greed and selfishness
That has taken over this garden
Called the human race".

Did touched me most, so much truth in those lines.
And I will keep those lines near my heart.
For love is the cure.

My pleasure Dale :) always ...
In this beautiful garden of human race we need to move on with renewed vigour. The way you've alkegorically depicted the human race it beautiful.. the weeds representing the evils in our society. You've cleverly crafted the message into it - co- existence and peace.. :)

I love the dichotomy of your work. I see it always in the phrasing. The ending signifies that beautifully.
