Inhale(Oxygen For One)

Inhale(Oxygen For One)

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Just as I begin to relish

In the joys oxygen brings

A simple gust of wind

Kicks up dust

Leaving a nasty taste of life.

Soon time and gravity

Play their part

In opening the airwaves

Allowing free flow

Of what my lungs crave…

An invisible lifeline.

Now I wonder if it’s too late

For now when I search

The clear blue sky

All I can see for miles is…

The ozone layer with a hole,

Like the one in my heart.

As I breathe in this lonely air

My biggest fear fills my chest…

That I’ll exhale alone.

Oh Dale, why do you tug at my heartstrings so? Sigh.

Loneliness can be so painful... but the truth is... you're not alone.
You have such wonderful friends... I read your reviews. Many love you.
You have the world ... :) And the world has you.

AND... you have yourself. The closest friend you'll ever have.

The emotion in this piece is raw... and painful.
The writing is magnificent! Truly magnificent..!

The author is priceless.

This is so sorrowful, but in it you've written a beautiful double meaning. I love the last line - it touched me deeply. "that I'll exhale alone"

Beautiful!

This is such a sad piece. My biggest fear is being alone, too and I could feel the lonliness and longing in your words so clearly.

Oh Dale....sadness. :( Such a touching, painful read. Ouch ouch ouch!
"The ozone layer with a hole,
Like the one in my heart."

Yeah, if that line doesn't dig in, I don't know what will. The lonely nature of this piece is quite deep and painful, I can feel it as though it were my own. I love how you expressed loneliness in terms of a required element to sustain life. As if you don't have the other, you cannot live. Nicely done!

Interesting read with a captivated ending. We are all that we breath together. Same air. Same space. No one wants to truly be alone. Good write.

Aww! I think most of us fear that, Dale, you are a cool guy, I doubt you'd breathe alone for long ;)
Kudos to you for expressing this so well :-)

wow, this is one is filled with raw emotion. It is a great piece of writing but so sad it makes my heart hurt for you. Never give up on love, it comes from some of the strangest places at times you would never expect...I know. Hugs :)

So sad and hopeless but there is still emotion here for if there were non left, no hope to fill the air these words would never have been written. I loved the last two lines the most. Truly wonderful write.

Wow. Truly, this is piece of work. You have simply placed your emotions unto this poem and made it come alive. Also, with the metaphors that you used have placed more emphasize on your feelings. Well-done.

Dale - I agree with everything Kara said.

True love will find you............you'll see. Like a breath of fresh air, it will blow gently upon you when you least expect it.
