Burn, Burning, Burned

Burn, Burning, Burned

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

The candlelight accents the room just enough

to make everything in it look beautiful.

The crackling sounds coming from the fireplace

has the task of keeping loneliness company.

The walls are engulfed in flames with the intent

of keeping the heart in its home sweet home.

your poetic is a wonderful prime example of wraparound tactile words creating an aura around the descriptive scene~

On the surface, this appears to be a word-picture of the cozy comfort of home and hearth. Peaceful.
But the second stanza mentions loneliness, and the third - While "engulfed in flame" could be an image of the reflected flames from fireplace and candles, there's this hint of maybe/destruction.
Intriguing and so well-done. Thank you.

Ah...what a pleasant read. Very romantic.

different aspects of fire...candle light- beauty, fireplace fire- company, and flames- engulfing a heart within it ...the same fire which enchants, comforts can also destroy...we can relate it further to emotions :) lovely :)

Interesting how lighting will add/detract from a "space"...a room, a mind, a soul??? Examining "the walls engulfed in flames" could prove to be a worthwhile venture...

Romantic yet sad as though the flames that bring warmth also have the ability to be extinguished. ...sort of like having a romance and viewing its journey.excellent poem.

In awe, I can't say more.

the passion dying is the flicker of urgency - the contrast or warning of love's simplicity being taken for granted. your fluidity described here is the wisdom of the mysterious scorpio but the fire is alive here in your saggitarian cusp :p

feels like a cabin heated with a blazing wood stove, the iron heated to the glowing point, on a minus 20 night under a starry night
