connecti.......

connecti.......

A Poem by h d e rushin

Poetry connects to all things telepathically, that is all things that language

can characterize by terseness or elipses. I mean even without words or story

or meaning, or muse, or emotion, or spirituality, or line, or crayons, or color,

or sentiment, or pathos, or longing, even without love, or honor, or reverence,

or blues, or the blues, or wishes, or evidence, or dreams, or old dogs, or dead

fathers, or blessings, or sunny mornings, or trama, or trains, or your possessions pulled

by a trailer, or refugees, or tranquility, or moons, or Vicodin, or transcendental

Cheerios, or w****s, or men who believe their women, or stop lights that won't

change fast enough, or the saving of elephants, or bones, or blood diamonds, or

Africa, or Angola, or the transmutation of ghosts, or wizards, or priests, or sex,

or oceans, or dirty rivers, or spiders, or baseball gloves, or old photographs,

or Barry Bonds, or paying tribute, or the lost screw in my glasses, or having a

stroke, or fishing, or Florida oranges, or triggermen, or ballrooms, or squeaky floors,

or twilled fabric, or backpacks, or baloney sandwiches, or zeros, or tiptoes, or the

unsuspecting, or Negroes, or credit ratings, or fico scores, or bad neighborhoods,

or Odysseus and Penelope, or plots of murder, or prisons, or false accusations,

or long distances, or numbers tatooed on your skin, or back pain, or Visnu, or

T-Mobile, or  the Middle Passage, or resettlement, or Coletrane, or an embrace,

or braces, or Colgate, or expressive speech, or verite, or operas, or classic rock,

or Loretta Young, or skin, or blue hair. Even before having large breasts means

anything at all in your will.

Poetry shall communicate from one mixed up mind  to another, by extrasensory

means.

I brought out ghosts that everyone in town could see the next day from the white hat society in the 1920's by reading spoken word to the sound of the eternal aum on a cd in '09...what you say is real, Dana, and the the framing lines and references were poetic gold, consciously or subconsciously...we are builders of the bridge to the collective...some jump off, some drive, some walk their bikes across and take photos...anyone can call it/see it as a dada trampolone apparatus, but we're gonna probly keep writing and reading

oh how you make me smile! i'm in love with this piece because it connected completely to everything i've ever felt about all those things... and the things i haven't felt, i could intuit the impressions, romanticise them... i suppose that is the essence of the connectedness of this world, the experiences we all have in parallel to each other.... communication is in itself an innate happening..... the need for matter to collide.. the need for us to search for meaning in the world and each other..... i love being told stories, always have, this is one such momentous telling.

Dana,

this is fabulous...all of what poetry is on some level that maybe only other poets can really understand..and all of those "or..." that you mention...all subjects of our poetry in one way or another.
i, for one, constantly look to use non-poetic things poetically...

ah, Loretta Young, or skin or blue hair...love it.

Extraordinary. Not only creative but illuminating, and incredibly touching. You created a poem here that I believe would be impossible for any poet (or for that matter, any person) Not to relate to. This might be my favorite/ of yours

I think you're so true in this dana, poets, (each on their own way) can move things, hearts, (stuff) maybe... feel over seas, and write from out of each perspective view, great examples of simple and more difficult things you show here, To philosophize and to ponder, is so brilliant unique in each and every mind, or thoughts... it makes it a maze of a universe itself.... :) it is as never ending as it is, and it will be forever, we are just only one glimpse of the elusive never ending.... and that is were we connect with eachother. I so loved this... goes into my favorits. It's so connected, as you say "connecti" Poetic brilliance... "YOU" :)
