it's quiet in the sanctuary of semantic regret

it's quiet in the sanctuary of semantic regret

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

it's quiet in the sanctuary of semantic regret

baptism of words,

the touch of liquid vocabulary

anointed syntax,

a version dipped in indelible ink

the poem's life begins

but the original sin is still the writer's will

and the mortal memories that birthed the poem

will forever gather

in contrition's confessional

a page bleeding of conscience.

Here i see the poem as cleansing water
taking away all sins of the writer
somehow the Penmanship is now less tainted
speaking clearly

to reach one's conscience with no inhibitions
