the
newspaper print faded in the flood, tears falling through
the roof yesterday's headlines were about us, about love
today as the rain pelts
the tiles i think of you, and drop towels on the
carpet soaking up as much
memory as allowed,
before the rainbow
accents the sky and i find a long vowel in the word,
"missing" two of them just like there were two
of us
but now just drips from the ceiling a life that needs
repairs and a hope love
insurance will cover the damages,
thank God the classified
section stayed dry even if i couldn't.
