just before the stillness intercedes

just before the stillness intercedes

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

just before the stillness intercedes

hi top forest,

redwood hats,

limbs bowed in etiquette's rendering

courteous leaves trying to silently weep

but the young grass below

feels the aged tears pond themselves

as floods of emotion

get lost in wooded ambivalence

and suddenly,

the breeze tears itself apart

trying to decide,

which way to fall.

I love the flow of this. I felt as I could have been a bird sitting atop of the tree witnessing this. Nicely written

thank you for your words, Connie.

You never lose steam with any new poem you write. There is always a wow, cool moment involved at the end. This is no exception. The personification is almost surreal. Great writing Jacob.
