the force

the force

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the force

love's ruinous nature compels
hearts to suicidal empathy
moribund expansions,
pulsating conundrums
we can't figure out,
solutions condemned to wonder

but regardless,
we manage to drive the reckless abandon
into the first beautiful tree
we see.

The below lines. I have known.
"but regardless,
we manage to drive the reckless abandon
into the first beautiful tree
we see."
Those beautiful trees. Make us hope and wish. Thank you Jacob for sharing the amazing poetry.

Gee
For some strange reason the last few lines had Marc Bolan spring to mind.
We all crave love, to love, be loved, many spend their lives yo yoing between euphoria and heartache.
Evening Jacob, hope you are well

it's like driving a car, love is, dear brother...At any time you can choose to not stop at the red light and then name it anarchy, or to drive over the cliff and be resigned to it's revolutionary spirit. But imbedded in our desires to be transported is our unquestioned desire to get somewhere...

Every love affair is not a train wreck and every beautiful tree does not have the names of lovers carved for posterity. But sometimes we wish it so....great poem my friend...
ps: I've been trying to be the care taker for an old mother....haven't been around lately...but so glad you still are.....dana

Don't we though?! Every time! "We manage to drive
The reckless abandon into the first beautiful tree we see." " Love's ruinous nature compels hearts to suicidal empathy." So eloquent, so true. One and one doesn't always add up to two but love makes us all daredevils...Great poem!

Hopefully, this is a force almost always with us--an emotion heavily muscled.
May we all know suicidal empathy, live in glorious wonder and end up wrapped around the nearest beautiful tree. A special kind of tree-hugger.
Powerful poetry, Jacob!

Condemned to wonder, now there's a prison I wouldn't mind as my own address.
