maybe there was a bid, once

maybe there was a bid, once

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

maybe there was a bid, once

vanishing words

lip reading dust

the parchment a dank, blank

sterilized encroachment

invading my space of delivery

when actuality is

the order was canceled

before i sat down

to write

and i am but

a silent auction

of second hand syllables

that should be given away.

Sounds as if the poet is being unjustifiably hard on himself.
Did a rather artistic job of it, though.
I suppose, if you're going to put yourself down, you should, at least, do it with great style.
