Natural Delivery

Natural Delivery

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Natural Delivery

pregnant with words,

syllables squeezing into night

dark birth, by candlelight perused

the process not so painful

as what caused the pregnancy

ruptured womb,

broken-hearted veins assume

the garrulous guilt of craft

confessional construct of poems

in the end, alive

pieces of me

always a part of me

breathing entities

i am amazed by the gift

writings cuddled within pages

wrapped in parchment

crying out to be read.

writings cuddled within pages
wrapped in parchment
crying out to be read
delivered naturally, with style and panache,
excellent writing, yet again, nice one, j.
the confessional construct of poems
WTF.

thank you for your kind review, gram,

This made me smile. Not what I was expecting when I read the title, but it is just as beautiful.

'pregnant with words', how good is that, better than being barren. The whole process here of birthing a poem, from conception to delivery and the contentment of the after glow when delivery has taken place. Great use of metaphor. No one dies it better.

The words just seem to pile up until one has to give birth to a new poem creation..bursting forth ready and wanting to be pampered and read..nice delivery

thank you for your insightful words...Fran,

here here! keeping it natural should be ......... well ......... natural ... but it isn't is it!? to speak in a poem the way one speaks normally has such drab narrow strokes to it ... at least for me ... i want to embellish and find those special words that say more ... i guess like so many things it's a balance that gets the job done and satisfies the creator ... especially like the "writings cuddled within pages" ... and who said men aren't nurturers :)))))))) as always lots of inspiring "stuff" jacob .. thanks for sharing

likewise sir! ..forced does put the kibash on the page doesn't it?! :)......................
Indeed the poet's ideas gestating until they bulge and demand the waters break upon parchment. Indeed each word feeling like you gave birth to it or at least had a hand in it's formation, even if the seed came from elsewhere! Great allegory as always oh master of the metaphor, I bow low.
