A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Unnamed

that prickly little thing

intrudes the love skin

we feel the pinch of feelings

a slight flow of heart's insanity

the sanitarium of mind

becomes our bandage

a rose plucked

without reason

dies in the hand

of uncertainty.

Is there a reason to love? I think to truly love someone, you don’t need a reason! Sometimes we pluck a rose without knowing what to with it and it shrivels and dies in our hand. Does it prick our skin, maybe but it does still leave its scent behind. Your poetry leads the student into many directions and I am just leaving one of my trains of thought behind here.

Reason! The motive that drives actions, the first gear that moves you towards or far from something. Reason! The functionality sane minds, and the disability of insane minds to reason. A lovely sentiment you wrote here.

You are welcome.
The sting of love is surpassed by the beauty it brings. We abide the thorn because the rose itself is so beautiful, an aroma that enchants us. Love brings all and sometimes takes all we desire, to love we must endure the pain that sometimes comes with it.

yes, we must endure...and if we really love, we won't mind.
thanks, Dave,

He loves me, he loves me not! Yes, love is a bit of insanity, but it sure is wonderful when it happens. We know we could be headed into the quicksand, yet willingly we march. Been a while since I heard the word "sanitarium"....I like using the unused words! Lydi**

This very one intrigue me, Jacob.
Love flows without intentions. Most of the time. we found ourselves attracted to some certain people unreasonably.
I could just called love hypnotism.

We certainly get into a hypnotic state, Kay, for sure.

Love pricks, pinches, hurts and drives us insane. But love is love; a complement of the heart.
Beautiful work.

Yes, "the sanitarium of the mind becomes our bondage"...excellent observation---and there is not cure and no solace, no place to run for relief as the heart swells with desire and need...:) Good One!

Life is filled with uncertainty Often we must be willing to take the risk of love, to see if it blossoms or dies after picked from the vine ;-]. Nicely expressed my friend.

One of the most pessimistic views on love I've ever read... kind of funny, in a way..but well written as always.

Not all those roses that are sweet scented are going to remain appealing. Some turn out to have sharp thorns. Love is strange, it is complex. It can't be explained easily.
