i am an old leaf

aging with attachments

to a branch of service

enlistment in love

October color

veins drying up

it's orange time

then falling time

then acceptance into the arms

of the deep dark ground

remember my green days

i shaded you once.

Wonderful metaphor here Jacob for the cycle of life. We all remember our green days, but green can mean naive. I rather like the splendour of October colour before the fall and the final acceptance.or otherwise will happen regardless. We have no choice. We are programmed just like that leaf.
