Who's the Father

Who's the Father

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Who's the Father

i am the illegitimate wordsmith

born a b*****d child

no rhyme for my time in the womb

read me inside out

cesarean

i will climb through windows for you

and leave prints on the pane

that add up to poems

no parents will claim.

The coming together of pen and paper. :) I get what you are saying. Not everything I write is worth the time of another. But each line is a part of me. Either in truth or pure imagination but all still apart.

Keep your pen going.

thank you, Cherrie, I appreciate you.

Well, i have encountered some true b******s on this site, but I never counted you as one of them. The birth imagery here is interesting, though. It is as though the speaker is saying he got it all wrong from the start, and no one would claim his poems now. This can't be you. You get more positive reviews than anyone else on the site.

Sometimes the isolationist style poetry is the most compelling.

It's a lonely life, the life of a poet. Through the years, new writers make themselves known having to create themselves free from past posterity. Quite moving, this write.

Strange, sad words, my friend. What muse cloaked you in her cold shadow? Even in darkness, I try to find beauty in our art. What we leave for posterity are the children of our minds. If we have no claim to them, then who else?

I love this one. But methinks the gentleman author suffers from unwarranted modesty. This was fabulous!

I loved the strong wording here. An illegitimate wordsmith, a b*****d child. Does the poet feel a lack of consonance with some elements in his world? Yet his determination to leave a legacy even if unclaimed feels phenomenal and that's what makes this poem remarkable for me.

I love your style of writing, but I disagree with you here. You are not as you have described. You are a brilliant wordsmith. I don't think you give yourself enough credit for being such a talented writer and clever wordsmith.

Always, jacob.
Well I’m not going to quote great lines from this I would be writing the whole thing. Read me inside out though was my favorite. Dramatic piece
