and maybe

and maybe

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

and maybe

a god-awful sky

encryptions in clouded font

memories rescinded

I loved her to the sun

and past the one we never had

her name in skywriting, a reminder

the child still waits in the chamber

a bullet fired from a womb of regret

memories erased before they

could exist as occasion

in the darkness of night

I hear cries.

Suddenly the moon's

bulb is burnt out

but, I still hear cries.

A life dissipating like a contrail that seems to go on forever but can't leaving us with the memory of it. I like your Skywrite of life and death.

Gee
I read into this abortion or miscarriage, probably wrongly.
Some relationship are strengthened by tragedy others hit the rocks and flounder.
A write full of sadness, regrets maybe.
Hope you are well Jacob.

This is a heartfelt piece
a certain kind of sadness
within the lines that tears
at the heartstrings..so
deeply expressed and
delivered profoundly...

I like the nature and technology metaphor at the beginning; your words paint the shadows of turmoil very well. I feel the speaker's pain

Seems that every day when I look there is yet another poem from you dear Jacob.
This one.. once again forced me to reread it several times..So many thoughts behind your words.
Sentence after sentence exploded into my heart..
Loved it..

Touched by a Tear… my Dear… p.
wow! deeply sad and tragic .. morning the loss of a love and one's child .. in our society today the father and the child are helpless before our laws as they are ... she gets to decide the horrible death of an innocent human being ... to see her name inscribed in clouds just would be awful in my opinion ... poor soul .. your poem moves me jacob .. very powerful ... when such events wipe away the sun and moon .. oh my :(

Why am I so strongly reminded of a young lady I went to school with who lost a child to a miscarriage?
This makes me ask the question. Was she haunted by the ghost of what might have been?
I could be misinterpreting. But I hear mourning for lost chances that died without being born.
Sad. And yet, perhaps some lost dream, a child deceased in the womb, stillborn, haunts us all.
