Mess

Mess

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Mess
this morning's burst
flavor of the day
the color of words
ingested, congested
configured, refigured
go figure
they just sounded good to me
so much so
I asked for two scoops
some spilled
off of the poems
but I brought a napkin just in case
and even that had writing on it.

Pour on some warm milk and make it a hot mess. What does a Thesaurus have for breakfast? A synonym roll. Okay, with that, I will hang my head and slink away. Loved your poem. F.

thank you for your kind words, Sharon,

You know a poem is good when it makes you laugh out loud when nobody's around. I think the color of your words might be constipated and regurgitated. Love the idea of overflowing words caught in a napkin to live in the next old idea. Maybe some toppings to top the tip of your pen.

I'll just have to start at the top and go down the page trying to keep up.

thank you for your kind review, Bill,

Tried writing on a napkin. Silly thing tore on the first pen stroke. And yes, crumbs of rhyme tend to litter the space I inhabit. Messy, aren't we?😄
Of course, art is not neat by nature. In our case, ink smudges from defective pens, eraser marks, coffee stains are all hazards of the trade.
Nicely written, J.
