Taxed

Taxed

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Taxed

there is goodbye in the clouds

tears of regret

falling from the azure sky

above the cumulus

accumulating

on a receptive ground

a levy of sorrow

a bevy of burden shared

nature does nurture

those grief-stricken creatures

and their loss

is a sharp blade of water

stinging the cheek

pools of droplets

of pain

of thoughts of yesterday

when it was all the same

as it was

and the sun said

it was so.

The very first line confused me, so I stopped to read it again, and again. My brain kept repeating, there is No Good in goodbye, so I read --- There is adieu in the clouds --- just a thought.
Ah, I wish I had sad this, :)
"of thoughts of yesterday
when it was all the same
as it was
and the sun said
it was so." --- But, alas, Jef did not. --- And this poem is yours. --- Thanks for the great read.

thank you for your words, JE,

Death and taxes are a must as it is said. Relationships can be taxed heavily with high expectations as to suffocate or cause a rebellion to freedom. Life can be taxing in many ways as far as responsibilities and unknown, unseen problems coming our way.
You are amazing sir Jacob.

You are welcome sir Jacob.
Will man ever learn peace as history repeats itself yet again as war rears it’s ugly head.

Gee
How rich some folk would be if a refund given whenever love, life failed them, rich, but with nobody to share it with.
Morning Jacob, Hope you are well

Another great one, I get from this that feeling day after day, that gray to black feeling of personal to world trials. So much going on as we struggle with our day to day world and the sun rises again and we do it all again. Great metaphors with multiple meanings making it a great poem…. I want to ponder this one more

You're welcome j. and thank you ;)
This can be interpreted in so many ways..... yes we are burdened in so many ways... everything is more "taxed" on us; the world is more complicated; there is chaos around us; it's not the same as it was; when things were the same, an easy life...even the sun said so and the sun really knows. Such great metaphors, too many to mention, but you have a real knack for this J. and I love it.
Best, B

Going our separate ways... And we felt so right together. But then... The storms rolled in.
Yes. This speaks volumes to relationships that simply couldn't last. Well written, J.

First one, early this morning in Spain...to read your poem Jacob,
"And their loss
is a sharp blade of water." You always have wonderful metaphors..
They always capture me...
"and the sun said it was so."
Really quite wonderful.
