A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

poem 3,490---spiraling galaxies in accord

i adhered to an existence

wound up a hypothetical

writer

summing up love and distance

into the same quadrant

the plane

i was on crashed into a surrealistic poem

the speaker crushed under metaphor

dimensions of synonym arose

i walked toward a dreamscape

life, better there

imagination is a perfect sanctuary.

The "imagination station" - all aboard!
Using the terms poets employ to achieve an effect in their work (metaphor, synonym, etc) helped you achieve what you wrote here. I see humor in it as well as reality and the surreal. Well done!

thank you for your kind words, LJ...and your extended visit.

Too cool! Imagination as sanctuary. It is. An escape as we crash hoping we can dream up a survival plan. Which is usually a new poem. I read the other one first and came back to this because of the number. Let me go back.

I like this so much, funny it makes me think how we put all that we are in one basket as we get older. I used to compartmentalize everything and everyone, not so much now and it happens in my writing. Imagination should be better, mine not so much, I mess even that up. very insightful poem. just where my thoughts went on this one.

My sanctuary is the natural world where I feel most at ease. Yours, the imagination. We all need a place where we can go to escape the hurts of life. Relatable work J and so well put my friend.

A perfect Sanctuary is a House with large Windows on an upper floor where the view is unencumbered with earthly Moors. The Sky is full of Stars that twinkle with the Beat of your Heart... an endless space to "let it go" where meteors dance to Mozart Requiem where notes travel to far away dreams.
Your Poetry is Heavens Repose. gently, Pat
