Pillow Talk

Pillow Talk

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Pillow Talk

when a poet

touches another poet

a poem is born

out of silent mating

the mime endorses

secret verbs

nudging nouns

a poem is born

and there is a voice

but aloud

only utter stillness

Like a butterfly to a flower. The whole ritual of the dance is short lived. Yes the intimacy of a poem reaches out for a connection between thoughts sometimes waiting, waiting, waiting… and then an opinion is born, and shared. But from the aftermath from thoughts moving on, one sees many gravestones - a writer’s cemetery.

The Stillness of Uncertainty will linger and become a Beacon for a Poet without a Home… where the Kettle of Tea is steaming with Rhymes that soothe the Stranger in an Autumn 🍂 flight of Geese in search of a warmer Climate. gently, Pat

It's so true..the silent mating
makes me think a meeting of the minds
and still waters run deep...

On the surface level, I have seen lady poets I'd like to touch, but my wife has no sense of humor regarding things of that nature. What I think you are saying is the works of others can spark our own creativity. It a process conducted in the silence of the mind, but in this manner is a new poem born.

To connect and inspire another writer to pick up their pen is most likely why we all started writing in the first place Jacob, as well as continuing to do so.

I appreciate your words, Lorry,

When a poet touches another poet, yes that is poetry. The writer has no idea how his or her words will be received by the reader. There is a certain intimacy there. Love the title J.
