Pillow Talk

Pillow Talk

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Pillow Talk

when a poet

touches another poet

a poem is born

out of silent mating

the mime endorses

secret verbs

nudging nouns

a poem is born

and there is a voice

but aloud

only utter stillness

Like a butterfly to a flower. The whole ritual of the dance is short lived. Yes the intimacy of a poem reaches out for a connection between thoughts sometimes waiting, waiting, waiting… and then an opinion is born, and shared. But from the aftermath from thoughts moving on, one sees many gravestones - a writer’s cemetery.

I like that way of looking at it. It is the truth though, it seems poets can bring out the best in poets, even if it is a newborn poem.
