Love the imagery of the roses with long thorns. They seemed so dangerous yet beautiful. Paring the thorn meant paring the entire picture of beauty.

Most welcome, my friend.
Nature and love have similar properties; they bloom or fade according to care, nourishment, longevity or scarcity and sincerity. However, your fine haiku says even more than my rambling - as always, sir.

Smiling.. was teasing. Understood what and why you said what you had,
lost are fresh gems kept

I usually start at the bottom and read up with your poems, but the titles got my attention. So down I go, into those holes in your head!

thank you, Crowley,

A sweet and sour poem; the petals are a scent of love; the thorns are the awareness that love is not perfect; and so you gave us a nature poem with many meanings... enjoyed it....
